Details

This is a location that has many different types of birds and their chicks, still in the nests. And in the evening, there are Bathouses which release the bats to forage for their dinner. There is free parking; a covered pavilion to rest, eat, or visit; Audubon docents who discuss the habits of the birds; and a wonderful place to study nature. There are lanes to wander around the pond, Purple Martin houses, and plenty of people with their phones or cameras to photograph the nesting birds. A great place to meet friends... Bring your long lens camera, or a phone that can be zoomed in. Chicks should be photographed at 400-600mm or equivalent. For more information about the venue, see: https://veniceaudubon.org/rookery
