What we’re about
The Art Workshop is much more than a place to learn art, it is place for everyone to explore self-expression and find meaningful friendships within a supportive creative community. Whether you are a seasoned artist ready to take your art further, or a beginner hungry for knowledge, this is the place! We will have free or low-cost workshops, social gatherings, and interactive discussions about promoting art. The mediums that we will be exploring are: drawing, painting, pastels, ink, collage, ceramics, jewelry and mosaics. Educators of these workshops are all professional with many years of educational experience. Our events are held in several locations in Phoenix (both the west and east side), Scottsdale, and Tempe. The Phoenix Metro area can be a lonely place for artists. It’s our goal to change that! Make ART and MAKE FRIENDS.

Greetings Art Lovers! Want to get away? My friend Cindy Kovak will be instructing at the Mountain Artists Guild in Prescott, Az Aug 9-10.
This is a two-day workshop and a terrific time to get away from the heat in Phoenix for a 2–3-day weekend. I’m instructing in gouache, a very versatile medium, vibrant in color and a great medium to use on it’s own, or with other mediums.
In the workshop you will gain knowledge of gouache and water medium painting including interesting techniques of adding mixed media to your work. You may use gouache, watercolor, or acrylic paints. You will be instructed in basic drawing, paint application, color coordination, mixed media application, stenciling, smoking a background, high/low lights, color coordination, overall mood, and design of your work. There will be demonstrations and individual one-on-one attention assisting each person. You will be encouraged to creatively conceive, in the light of your individual belief, the unique nature of the work you produce. Contact Cindy for supply list:
