What we’re about
Are you passionate about making a tangible difference for the Asian Canadian community?
This is the space where your voice matters and your actions create change. The Asian Canadian Advocacy Network (ACAN) is a grassroots collective of thinkers, doers, and advocates dedicated to protecting human rights and advancing the interests of Asian Canadians.
Whether you are a seasoned activist or looking to get involved for the first time, we provide the platform, the community, and the tools to turn ideas into impact.
WHY JOIN US?
Advocacy shouldn't feel like a chore. It should feel like community. As an ACAN member, you choose your own path:
- 100% Free & Accessible: Membership and all events are always free.
- Flexible Commitment: You decide how much time you want to give, from brainstorming sessions to leading major campaigns.
- Meaningful Connection: Meet like-minded advocates through both virtual and in-person events.
- Shared Knowledge: Gain deep insights into historical injustices, current affairs, and strategic campaigning.
WHAT WE DO TOGETHER
We don’t just talk; we execute. Our members collaborate to:
- Brainstorm innovative solutions to modern challenges.
- Develop strategic plans to protect our community’s human rights.
- Execute campaigns that foster a more inclusive and welcoming Canada.
OUR STORY
Founded in 2024 by human rights lawyer Kieran Bath, ACAN was born from a vision to bridge advocacy gaps through collective action. In 2025, the leadership expanded to include human rights lawyer Alfonso Chen and Filipino advocate Marjay Calivoso, bringing a diverse breadth of expertise to our mission.
In January 2026, we created this Meetup group to find you.
