Whether you are just sticking your toe into the waters of astrology, or have been reading and studying (and swimming in) the vast ocean of astrology for years... Whether you know Venus from Mars (and we hope you do!), or how the Cardinal Cross has affected world events and politics... If you want to meet others of a like mind, others who are both curious and knowledgeable about the workings of our planets as they influence us down on earth... AND If you live in the Chicagoland area, this is the group for you! We host a monthly lecture on an astrological topic, along with occasional week-end workshops and our now famous (or infamous) Holly Daze Party that takes place in December - wait till you hear our astrology carols! :) We meet on the 2nd Tues night of the month, except during the months of January and February, in Des Plaines. Our meetings are from 7:30-9:00 pm. We are part of the NCGR family of astrologers. The NCGR—National Council of Geocosmic Research—is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising the standards of astrological education and research; it was founded in 1971. As our sister chapter in the San Francisco Bay Area says “So, come join us, share your experience of astrology, meet other like-minded people in a learning environment, make a friend or two!” We look forward to meeting you!

Speaker – Marcia SacksKarmic Astrology: Trining Your Squares and Squaring Your Trines
Bring your own horoscope and learn how to create a positive future using the karmic astrology techniques of trining your squares and squaring your trines.
Multiple methodologies will be discussed which you will be able to apply to any aspect in your natal, progressed or transiting chart. This process is sometimes called remediation, mitigation, sympathetic magic or the yoga of wise action.
In this session you will learn to:
• Appreciate the perils of astrological 'excusitis'
• Transmute the energetic components of an aspect to harmoniously accomplish your goals
• Translate between various metaphysical systems in order to expand your modes of problem solving
• Read the symbols in your everyday life and gain data for the intensity and duration of your aspects
• Utilize visualization, affirmation, and astrodrama techniques for communicating with your planetsMarcia Sacks has been a meditation teacher and professional astrologer in the Chicago area for many years. She studied astrology, yoga philosophy, and metaphysics with Goswami Kriyananda in Chicago. Marcia is a graduate of Kriyananda's Professional Astrology Course and was the director of that program for seven years. Marcia is a member of the Northern Illinois chapter of NCGR, and served as club president in 1994 and 1995. She has been a speaker at local and national astrology conferences. Her articles have been published in The Mountain Astrologer, The Monthly Aspectarian, and she was the astrology columnist for Yoga Chicago magazine. Her newsletter “Astrology Update” is posted a few days before the new and full moon on her website www.kriyastrology.com
