WHO:
The Authentic Relating Columbus community + You [and your friends] ;)
Please feel free to invite and share it with others.

WHAT:
An opportunity to learn, to listen, to observe, to empathize, to be heard and seen, to educate, to share.
(This is NOT AR GAMES, but will have some framework of AR Games for previous attendees.)

WHEN:
Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

WHERE:
Online via Zoom and Facebook Live.

WHY:
The intent of this event is to help facilitate understanding and better communication. We all want a better world. This means we need to understand the problems we face so that we can work together to achieve our goals. We are all unique, and we are stronger together.

DETAILS/STRUCTURE:
This event is going to be a live virtual event via Zoom, which will also stream live to Facebook and be recorded. People of Color (Non-whites) of various backgrounds are going to have between 5-10 minutes (depending on turn out) to speak about how they have experienced everyday racism. Our goal here is to not only allow POC to be heard but also for us to try to understand what that may be like and to think about ways in which we can directly affect change.

The current plan is that I will give a brief framing of the event, and some structure, but mostly it will be a space for POC to speak about their experiences. Near the end, depending on timing and how people are feeling, I'd like to open things up for questions, for a dialogue to happen, and ideally a sharing of resources and ideas for us to make change happen.

I encourage you to have paper and a pencil so that you can take notes if need be. I also invite everyone to join and or watch/listen and share with others. This is a time where no matter who you are, you have an opportunity to grow. I especially would like to see people who find resistance in themselves to challenge themselves to learn something new.

*** It takes a lot of courage to share, so we will not tolerate any hatred or bigotry, but we want to welcome those who may have a different perspective, but aim to understand.***

Please ask any questions you may have.
(I aim to help, but please kindly make me aware of areas I may be blind to.)

———————————————————
The Authentic Relating Columbus group is a community made of diverse people that come together to share and support each other in growth, connection and love. Through the different practices and experiences, we expand our awareness, empathy, appreciation, and connection to each other.
Our meetups include Authentic Relating Games, closely related practices (circling), as well as purely social events (art/making, movies, museums, comedy, playful/active adventures, etc.)
Our pillar practice, Authentic Relating Games (AR Games) are a fun way to explore your sense of self, your connection to others, and communication techniques to improve your relationships with both.
Authentic Relating games range from fun icebreakers to deep challenging opportunities for personal and interpersonal growth.

The benefits of authentic Relating games are myriad. Sometimes they are specific tools or techniques to help navigate difficult scenarios and other times they are subtle states of mind that help form your perception in a more open, vulnerable, and humanistic way. The more you put into the games, the more you get out of them!
