About us
A local book club for professionals and academics who have more or less “standard” work schedules. Every member will contribute their book suggestion, from any genre, fiction or nonfiction, after which all members will vote for their book of choice. Meetings will alternate between Eugene and Corvallis. Meeting spots will vary - cafes, picnics at local parks, etc. - and will be open to suggestions from group members. Some book club events will also be in “hiking book club” format.
I would like to create a book lovers’ community between the two university towns for professionals and academics who have busy work schedules and would like to combine their love for books with social outings. If you are not currently a professional (i.e. retired or going back to school) you are still very welcome to join if you are able to accommodate meetings around typical work hours. I really appreciate connections from different fields of work, who will bring diverse perspectives.
Please send me a direct message or leave a comment in the group if you are interested in joining this book club. Once I get at least 3 interested parties, I will kick off the first book club event.
