WordPress sites have a content management system. This is great and allows you to make lots of edits and modify whatever you would like. The downside is that means you have to handle security.

We'll talk about the increase in reported vulnerabilities, and how that is affecting websites. And we'll talk about what hacks look like and the recovery process from a real hack. Including the fact that the site owner didn't know their site was hacked for over 2.5 years!

What a real hack looks like:
- Timeline: over 2.5 years where unauthorized users had full access (yes, this is actually very typical and I've seen this happening for years).
- 5 separate hacks.
- How the site owner finally noticed.
- What recovery looked like & the steps.
- That most hosting is pretty useless (I'm looking at you Flywheel).
- And things to prevent hacks.
- Why hackers even want your site.
