This Saturday we’re heading north for a classic: Gallifa from Barcelona, a route that mixes smooth group work, rolling countryside, and a final sting on the way home.
We’ll meet at Plaça Lesseps at 10:00 AM and roll out together. We start with the short and gentle climb of Forat: steady pace, no forcing, no dropping. The goal is to warm up properly and move as a group.
From there we gradually leave the urban sprawl behind, passing through Sabadell before the roads open up into rolling countryside where we can start pushing a little. Expect clean rotations and proper drafting on the exposed sections.
The climb up to Gallifa itself is not demanding, so we’ll treat it as a place to work together: smooth tempo on the winding ascents and controlled pace on the descents.
We’ll stop at the bottom in Caldes de Montbui for water and a well-deserved coffee. After that, we roll back toward Barcelona with fast descents and flowing terrain… and then we’ll take on Cementiri d’Horta climb just because.
Depending on group size and pace, we may split into a faster and a steadier group.
On the flats, expect 40 km/h with proper drafting. As a reference for climbing pace, an Arrabassada time around 16 minutes fits the expected level.
