'In this fascinating talk, John Grimshaw introduces the Somerset Circle – the (yet to be fully completed) 88-mile cycle route looping around Bristol, Bath, the Mendips, Somerset Levels and the coast. Greenways and Cycleroutes, has been instrumental in creating the route, including 50 miles of cycle path along disused railway lines.
John will share the story behind the Somerset Circle, and his vision for a greener, healthier and more connected landscape – one where walking and cycling are part of everyday life.' - Foccal summary*
Advisable to buy your £5 ticket in advance via: https://foccal.com/event/554 as talks at the library sometimes sell out.
Doors and the bar open at 6.30 pm and the talks starts at 7.00 pm.
Parking in Clifton Village is difficult but, after 5.00 pm, there is free parking nearby in Worcester Road and most of College Road. Bus options on the TravelWest website. Bicycle stands in front of the library.
Meet by the Meetup sign on top of the bookcase just beyond the bar. I'll reserve seats for BBE Meetup members who've bought their own tickets in advance.
After the talk, maybe join us for a chat about it in the pub next door.
*Foccal is a group of volunteers which organises excellent free and paid for events to help keep the library open - forthcoming events: https://public.foccal.com/eventlist
