Deep Talk : Beauty and Complexity of Japanese Culture /Non Japanese only

Hello beautiful people. My name is Koi. I was born and raised in Tokyo until the age of 23, and for the past 10+ years, I’ve been living in Australia and New Zealand (currently in Australia). Having experienced both Japanese and Western cultures, I’ve developed a unique perspective on Japan—one that goes beyond just the beautiful or traditional aspects often highlighted.

This event is an invitation to have a DEEP AND MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION about Japanese culture, exploring a wide spectrum of topics, including both the positives and the more complex or difficult aspects. I believe in open, thoughtful, and respectful dialogue, especially from the perspective of those who have experienced Japan as both insiders and outsiders.

Please note:
I may record parts of our conversation for social media platforms such as Instagram. Please join only if you’re comfortable being recorded (voice only is acceptable if you prefer not to be on camera).
Topics will be organized and guided by me, with space for everyone to contribute and share. All conversations will be in English.

Note on Group Membership:
This group is currently intended for people who were NOT born in Japan. Our goal is to create a space for shared experiences and perspectives from international backgrounds. We kindly ask members to respect this focus for now to maintain the purpose and spirit of the group.
*In the future, I plan to organize events welcoming both Japanese and non-Japanese participants to foster even broader cross-cultural connections. Thank you for your understanding and support.
