Join us for a discussion of “The Remains of the Day” at Stoup in Capitol Hill (previously Optimism).
Note that we're starting a little later than usual this month!
Since it's December, this meeting will double as our end of year holiday party! Stoup does allow outside food, so feel free to bring a snack or treat to share as well as a wrapped new or gently used book if you'd like to participate in a white elephant book exchange :D

In the summer of 1956, Stevens, a long-serving butler at Darlington Hall, decides to take a motoring trip through the West Country. The six-day excursion becomes a journey into the past of Stevens and England, a past that takes in fascism, two world wars, and an unrealised love between the butler and his housekeeper.
