The turbulent time of the Judges - Bible study

Israel was brought into the promised land under the leadership of Joshua. After his death, begins the time of judges who preside over the affairs of a nation under oppression from their enemies.

They cry out to God and He raises judges who deliver them from their enemies. What can we learn about this turbulent time and does it resemble any of our cultural attitudes today?
