Study Guide: Genesis 1-3

Theme: Creation, Identity, and Relationship

Overview : Genesis chapters 1-3 provide a profound insight into the creation of the world, the identity of humanity, and the nature of relationships. These chapters lay the foundation for understanding God’s purpose and design for our lives.

Chapter Summaries

• Genesis 1 : God creates the world in six days, culminating in the creation of humanity in His image. The chapter emphasizes the goodness of creation and the establishment of the Sabbath.

• Genesis 2 : This chapter provides a more detailed account of the creation of man and woman. It describes the Garden of Eden, Adam's role, and the institution of marriage, highlighting the importance of companionship.

• Genesis 3 : The narrative of the Fall introduces sin into the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve. It explores temptation, the consequences of sin, and God’s promise of redemption.
