What we’re about
Astrology is an excellent practical and useful tool for understanding ourselves, our motivations, and the universe around us. It is much more than the sun sign columns found in newspapers and magazines. Whether you are just starting to learn or are a professional astrologer, this is where everyone speaks the same language. Everyone is invited to ask questions on any level, share observations, and exchange ideas. Everyone is encouraged to participate, and if you are interested in presenting a lecture or discussion topic, please contact the organizers. We are open to considering astrology-based ideas of all kinds.

Event Description:
The difference between day and night is a fundamental concept known to all living beings, but seldom do we explore this mundane binary of our existence in astrology.
Ancient astrologers regarded day and night, also known as sect, as an essential component of chart interpretation. However, when Alan Leo and other 19th century theosophists brought astrology back after its dormancy during the 18th and 19th century, they excluded day and night considerations from their reinvented modern astrology.
This talk will introduce the split between day charts and night charts. People born during the day are fundamentally different than those born at night. It will cover the advanced concept of sect in astrology, its correlation to the concept of gender, and explore how these nuances can be reintegrated into birth chart interpretations that synthesize ancient and modern understandings.

Event Description:
There is perhaps no magical belief as persistent and widespread as the notion of an "evil eye," or the power of envy and destruction witnessed through the act of gazing.
In their glimmering watchfulness, planets and stars resemble eyes in the sky--sometimes offering their benevolent glance, and other times a malignant stare.
This talk will cover the planets, stars, and astrological configurations most heavily associated with baleful rays, as well as the mythological and magical elements that undergird them.
In the Q&A following the talk, we will discuss specific transits, placements, and potentials for remedy, and where in our own lives and in our charts the starry eye may gleam.
