Bike the Consolidated Canal and Tap a Dragon! - Gilbert/Chandler
Details
Biking the Consolidated Canal - Mesa/Chandler/Gilbert
This is a down-and-back ride, with a stop at the Tap Dragon Craft Beer and Wine Bar. About an hour each way.
Meet at: Park of Canals
1710 N Horne, Mesa, AZ 85203
Show up by 3:45 and be ready to pedal by 4pm
ROUTE: The gentle-grade dedicated bike path - Consolidated Canal - connects 3 cities: Chandler (where it is also known as the Paseo Trail), Gilbert (known here as the Heritage Trail) and Mesa as it winds through neighborhoods, farms and parks. Waterfowl and fish can be spotted in the canal, and fishing is permitted, tho I doubt you'd want to eat it (yuck...).
We will turn around after the Tap Dragon (they do not have a kitchen, but you can bring in food from next door) and pedal back to the park.
Path all paved.
We pedal at a moderate pace - about 10 - 11 mph.
1 hour each way / 10 miles each way
Bring: Bike Lock and Bike LIGHT as usual
