Behavioural economics studies the fundamental drivers of human behaviour. It is being deployed by development teams around the world to systematically remove friction points and design better experiences using the science of human behaviour and decision-making. In this workshop, BEworks Associate Matthew Kan, PhD. will focus key tactics to overcome challenges in typical onboarding experiences using BE.

Speaker Bio:

Matthew is a behavioural scientist at BEworks—a consulting firm that specializes in solving behavioural challenges with behavioural economics (i.e., the study of psychology as it relates to the economic decision-making processes). Matthew is passionate about applying behavioural economic principles to solving real-world challenges. At BEworks, Matthew has worked on numerous projects solving behavioural challenges in various industries, including financial services, information technology, telecommunication, energy, healthcare, transportation, and more. Matthew holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Social Psychology from Queen’s University and his research specialty is within the area of attitudes and persuasion. Matthew has previously served as a lecturer at the Royal Military College of Canada, where he taught statistics, psychology, and organizational behaviour.
