Brian will also share his goals as a founding member of the Canadian Web3 Council — a new industry association advocating for a digital asset regulatory framework for Canada.
Both Brian and Marcel have extensive backgrounds in the crypto space and will speak to how Canada and Toronto can build a competitive advantage in the industry, where institutional investors are in the cryptocurrency investment lifecycle, and what will drive further adoption of digital assets.
Brian Mosoff is the CEO of Ether Capital (NEO: ETHC), a leading public company focused on Ethereum and Web3 infrastructure. He has been actively involved in the cryptocurrency industry for a decade and has acted as an advisor to both the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) regarding digital asset policy. Brian is also a founding member of the Canadian Web3 Council and a mentor to early blockchain start-ups at the Rotman School of Management's Creative Destruction Lab.
Marcel Kasumovich has more than twenty-five years of experience in financial markets including work at the Bank of Canada, the IMF, Goldman Sachs, as well as senior leadership roles in hedge funds including Soros Fund Management, Woodbine Capital, and Tse Capital.
Marcel joined One River Digital in 2021 as the senior member charged with building out digital investment strategies. He has been engaged in cryptocurrencies since 2012 as part of Pure Macro Capital Advisors which he founded to house various start-up investment and advisory interests. Marcel has published research ranging from academic journals to op-eds.
