Script Submission Guidelines and Attending Forum Steps:

1). You can send your scripts to bostonscreenwritersgroup@gmail.com. Once received we can send out private google drive links so members can read the scripts prior to the event. Please make sure that your scripts are properly formatted and proofread before submitting them! It doesn't have to be perfect but it makes it easier for the other members to read and give you better feedback.

2). We have Two Rounds of peer-reviewing for each script: First round is the positive takeaways of the Script: what we liked about it and what worked well in the script. The second round is the critiques: What you felt needs improvement and specific questions for the writer about the story, characters, etc. At any time if you agree with a certain point another member is making in either round please feel free to make that known. It helps to build a feedback consensus about the good things and needs for improvement that can help a writer immensely.

3). We accept shorter scripts (<30 Pages), act-by-act feature-length scripts, and episodes (<30 pages) from a series, and the deadline for submissions are Wednesday night prior to the Saturday forum. The scripts will be sent out as soon as we have three submissions for the forum. If there are any questions about this please contact us using the group email: bostonscreenwritersgroup@gmail.com. We hope this leads to better feedback responses for our members.

4). If you are resubmitting a script for revision peer review please highlight the changes you have made to it from the previous draft either by letting us know in the email or by highlighting the changes made in the actual script. It'll help members who read the earlier versions see the progress made and how the writer is taking feedback from the group.

5). For the writers selected for peer-reviewing of their scripts, we do expect you to stay for the entire meetup to give feedback on the other works. We understand if something comes up and you need to leave. You may send your feedback to our email and we'll send it to the writers.

6). We will be sending the script links out via email, the Peer-review scripts message board: https://www.meetup.com/The-Boston-Screenwriters-Group/messages/boards/forum/36112961, and in the comment section below. If you still have trouble finding the links please let us know ASAP so you can read the scripts before the meetup.

7). Given enough time we hope to have 'Pitch' sessions at the end of the peer reviews where a member can pitch script ideas at any level of development to get feedback going forward. We hope this leads to helping writers flesh out stories, better scripts, and even collaborations within the group!
