All meetup venues we currently use require us to provide a list of names (First & Last) to their door security so they can check people in at the time of the event. We are also required to bring "a picture ID" that matches the name we provide at the time of registration. Please be mindful of this requirement and provide the necessary information to ensure a smooth check in process at the door. Thank you for your cooperation - the management! Talk #1 - JavaScript Injection via Basic Auth in Firefox: The Story of a new bug by Alikhan Uzakov
Description - In this talk, I'll share the journey of discovering a security bug/bug related to HTTP Basic Authentication in Firefox, identified together with my colleague. We'll delve into technical details, including how we detected the issue, underlying browser behaviors that led to the vulnerability, and a live demonstration of a Proof-of-Concept (PoC).
Speaker - Alikhan Uzakov is a Senior Security Engineer who moved to Boston two years ago from London, passionate about tinkering and exploring all things tech.
Talk#2 - Abusing File System API in Chrome by Philip Okhonko
Description - This research demonstrates how the File System API in Chromium-based browsers on Unix-based systems can be abused to bypass intended design limitations through symlink manipulation. The issue remains unfixed despite being reported a year ago.
Speaker Bio - Philip Okonko is an application security engineer, OSCP, OSWE, and included in the Mozilla Hall of Fame
