Talk - Cyber Threats to Water Infrastructure by Josh Corman
Description
The country needs YOU... (and sooner than you think). No Water -> No Hospitals -> No Kidding... as early as 10 months from now... We live in glass houses... rocks are going to start flying... For Xi, disruption/destruction is marked on the calendar for "as early as 2027" - if not sooner by Iran or Russia. Our Lifeline Critical Functions like are dangerously comprised, compromise-able, and interdependent.
Launched last year at BSidesLV, I dove into a 1 year pilot called UnDisruptable27.org to see if/how we might warn communities of the coming typhoons - and help them to prepare for disruption to water, power, access to emergency medicine, food supply, and the like. The pilot showed "we're gonna need a bigger boat..." and thanks to uncle Craig (Newmark), we have another $3.2M to fuel this non-profit over the next 2 years... but we're gonna need your help - to prepare and protect your households, your neighbors, your regions...
We need your help... but quite likely not like you're expecting... and if we're gonna discuss and debate and refine and recalibrate... we best do it now than under fire.
We will heave some real talk about what the 1st year exposed, how we're changing the theory of change... and what the next 12 and 18-24 months hold for the project and your help. You may even get to make your case as to why YOUR community should be one of our 12 on-the-ground resilience innovation bastions.
