Boston Security June 2026 Meetup
Details
Important Notices
Starting in May 2026 we will start using Meetup's QR code check-in process to make sure only registered users are allowed at our events. We will also start tracking registered user no-shows, and after 3 incidents you will be removed from the group. Being on the wait-list is not an eligibility to attend the event, it only gives you the ability to move to registered list if someone cancels their registration more than 48hrs prior to the event.
Repeat cancellations with less than 48 hrs of notice may count towards your no-show count if it happens repeatedly.
During registration please provide a full name that matches the one on your ID. If the registered name doesn't match your ID, meetup organizers or the building security reserve the right to decline entry.
All meetup venues we currently use require us to provide a list of names (First & Last) to their door security so they can check people in at the time of the event. We are also required to bring "a picture ID" that matches the name we provide at the time of registration. Please be mindful of this requirement and provide the necessary information to ensure a smooth check in process at the door. Thank you for your cooperation - the management! There will be no entry without a confirmed RSVP. No pets or tele-presence bots allowed.
What: Two talks as usual!

Talk 1 - Beyond Guardrails: Building Secure-by-Design AI Culture by Amber Bennoui
Description - AI is being adopted across every function of the enterprise, often without formal approval. Traditional security approaches that rely on blocking or slowing adoption no longer work in AI-first organizations. This talk provides a framework for building secure-by-design cultures where innovation and protection work together. Attendees will learn how to implement lightweight AI guardrails, embed governance into existing workflows, and align incentives across business, engineering, and security teams. The session delivers actionable playbooks, real-world patterns, and metrics to measure success, enabling security professionals to become strategic partners in responsible AI adoption.
Speaker Bio - Security and AI product leader current working on Jiffy Labs, with previous experience building CNAPPs at Threat Stack, Datadog and Black Duck.
Talk 2 - AI Agents in Security by Colin Jermain
Description - AI Agents are here -- being applied to security problems. How do you audit and secure their actions? Security experts have a low tolerance for poor software (for good reason), and AI Agents are no exception. Let's cut through the hype to uncover the fundamentals on AI Agents, and discuss the unique challenges they face when applied to security. We'll focus on gaining auditability, and highlight the areas in an agentic system that are critical to get right.
Speaker Bio - Colin leads AI/ML investments at Realm Security, helping SOC teams own their security data and reduce SIEM costs. Prior roles include leading Data Science at SecurityScorecard (cyber-risk and GRC), and teams at Vectra AI (Network/Cloud Detection and Response). Colin holds a PhD in Physics from Cornell, and got his first exposure to cybersecurity as a Web Developer in 2005.
