Welcome to The Brave Sheep - a group for those who have made the choice to be estranged from family, for your own well-being. This is a space to have fun, talk with people who get it and to build meaningful connections.

This group is NOT for those who do not know or understand why they are estranged from family. This is for those of us who have made the conscious choice to do so to escape precarious situations. This is a safe space and hate, abuse, etc of any kind will not be tolerated.

Have you had to make the difficult decision of cutting off your family for your own peace, stability and mental health? Maybe you're just considering the possibility, or you're in the midst of the process right now? If any of this resonates with you, or you're feeling alone, you're in the right place 🫶🏼

We are often called the "black sheep" of the family, but I like to say we are the brave sheep. The brave sheep who made the difficult choice to go it alone. Not because it's what we wanted, but because we were left with no choice. While we are brave, many of us carry this grief with us.

This group is to support one another in this journey and build the genuine family we never had. This group meets monthly in-person, typically on Friday afternoons at our “home base” location near Centerra in Loveland. The group will also periodically get together at other local parks, community events, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. in NOCO - especially as the weather warms up! ☀️

*ATTENDANCE POLICY* We are a large group and many folks end up being wait-listed for events that really want to be involved. PLEASE MARK YOURSELF AS “NOT ATTENDING” IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE! Anyone who violates this new policy twice will be removed from the group. This ensures that everyone who wants to attend can have a fair chance. This is especially important for settings where we need to give a headcount in advance like restaurants or group activities. Thanks! 🩷
