This group is for events hosted by The Bridge church in Gilbert AZ. We currently host hikes and volunteering events. Events in this group are open to EVERYONE, whether affiliated with a different church, or no church at all. We welcome first timers! Don't be shy; come and say hello. If an event is posted here on Meetup, it means YOU are invited and we would love to have you join in!

World Vision Global 6K Walk For Water (5/2 Saturday, 7:30AM)

Six kilometers, or 3.7 miles, is the average distance a person in the developing world has to walk to find water—water that is often not safe to drink or wash their hands with. We want to help you make that fact personal by covering that same distance so that someone else no longer has to."

We will be hosting a team for the World Vision Global 6K For Water. This annual event is a fantastic remind of the scarcity of clean water in many parts of the world. We will start at The Bridge / SDA church (address near bottom), walk to Freestone Park to complete the distance, and then walk back to the church when complete. The walk will be at a relatively slow pace, as we have children and seniors participating. Dogs are welcome!
(Note that our group is participating on **May 2nd**!! This is not the usual date as most other teams, but we are hoping to beat the heat by participating a couple weeks early.)

If you have a shirt from a prior year, you are welcome to wear it. To be clear, you are more than welcome to participate, with or without an event shirt or donation. THIS IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY!
