IN PERSON Spooky Special: Costumes, Treats & Conversation Across the Aisle

Join us for an engaging discussion across the political spectrum, with a Halloween twist! There have been sweeping changes in a short period, and this month we invite you to come discuss your greatest hopes and your most haunting worries so that we can set milestones to revisit.

Come dressed in costume! Whether you go classic ghost, clever pun, or full-on horror, we’d love to see your creativity. We’ll be holding a costume contest during the evening, so bring your best look and your best spirit.

As always, the goal of our meetups is not to convince people of one viewpoint or another. It’s to help us understand each other better and to add detail and nuance to our views and opinions about “the other side.” That means finding mutual respect and also being comfortable with a little discord. (The only thing we want to be scary is the costumes.)

Through these meetups, you’ll find new sources of information, and you’ll learn to listen better and to flesh out (or sometimes throw out) the assumptions you carry. Most of all, we hope you’ll come away with the sense that “the other side” is made up of people just like you, and you’ll learn that most people are not simply “bigots” or “snowflakes.”

So grab your costume, bring your curiosity, and join us for a night that’s equal parts treats and thoughtful tricks. 👻
