So Young magazine night at Patterns

Three up and coming indie bands recommended by So Young magazine.

Two, Cardinals and Pebbledash, are off the conveyor belt of excellent Irish post-punk, post-Fontaines DC bands that gave us Sprints, Just Mustard, NewDad and Gurriers. Pebbledash are slightly shoegazey, Cardinals are more angular.

The third, Men-an-Tol, give clues to their roots in both their name (a Cornish ancient monument, apparently) and the title of their debut single, "NW1". So Young's article on them mentions Echo and the Bunnymen and Yo La Tengo as comparisons.

All this for £17 and it'll get you out of the house on a Monday night.
