Looking for a close-knit community? Where you can have a weekly excuse to unwind? If so, the Drunken Knitwits is for you! The goal is to meet like-minded, crafty people, who may also be new to the area and looking for a good way to make friends.
The plan is to get-together over happy hour every Thursday in a different pub/bar in the CBD or an inner-city suburb and have some laughs while working on any amazing or shamelessly crappy projects. This is a great place to make new friends as well as see familiar faces, and be part of a wonderful community of fun and creative people. The only requirement is that you knit/crochet/cross-stitch/do some other kind of portable craft, or are willing to learn! We are happy to help where we can and share advice/knowledge if you get stuck ;)
The group is inspired by the Oxford Drunken Knitwits in the UK. The brilliant idea has already spread, with more groups having popped up in Cambridge (UK) and Boston (US). There is also a Melbourne Chapter of The Drunken Knitwits too! So spread the word to your interstate friends too!
