Agile Talks #12

Details
Hi,
This is the first edition for 2016. We have 2 presentations, 3 speakers, open space and a new host for the month of February. Here are more details.
First presentation is "Adaptive Planning" by Mihai Olaru and Cristina Lupu from Avangate (http://www.avangate.com/).
Many times we use principles such as Adaptive Planning and Progressive Elaboration when we don’t know enough to frame a “Master Plan” for our Project. In fact, Agile practitioners recognize that there is no such “Master Plan” and every step on the way of developing the Product clarifies a small aspect of the story. This is why we use tools and techniques like User Story decomposition, Planning Poker or Architectural Spikes. This way, we manage to grow the Product at the same time with the Plan, and not as the result of the Plan.Furthermore, the high performance teams that agile environments are building also result after a series of steps. They are not simply born Great. They are becoming Great!
Mihai Olaru is Program and Project Manager currently overseeing an Agile Program with 6 cross-functional teams, working in a dynamic Scrum environment.
Cristina Lupu is Professional Scrum Master experienced in working with cross-functional teams, currently working as Project Manager into an Agile environment.
Second presentation is "Developer Experience to Testing" by Claudia Rosu.
"Unit Testing, UI testing, UX testing, Functional Testing. These are day to day activities for me. And no, I am not a tester, I am a developer. A developer who cannot code without testing. In this presentation I want to share with you how, as a developer I have come to use tests for: understanding the features, choosing the best user experience design, choosing the best technical solution, implementing the features and test them, of course :). You will see practical examples of how tools like Jasmine, Spock, Geb are used for all the above types of tests. You will see a project with tests and we will discuss on how you can use testing effectively to enhance your professional performance."
Claudia Rosu is a software developer at MozaicLabs (http://mozaiclabs.com/), heading her way towards Software Craftsmanship. When she is not developing software products, you can find her orgnizing and facilitating community meetups.
Many thanks to Avangate for hosting this meetup and helping us with the organization.
