Description:
We live in a culture that tells us we can have anything we want if we are willing to do the work and take the necessary risks.
"Just Do It!" they say...
"Follow Your Gut," people insist...

There is just one problem...

Many of us, when asked the question "what do you want?" end up drawing a blank. Because while our culture says that we can have whatever we want if we are only willing to try, it also tells us that there are only a limited number of things we should want.

We should want more money
We should want fancy things
We should want to be "chosen" by someone else
We should want that shiny job

And while it says we can "follow our gut," it doesn't actually want us to do that. It would be much better for us to follow the advertisement campaigns provided to us through social media platforms and "recommended for you" algorithms. We are told to go after what we want (provided that what we want fits into the appropriate scripts given to us by the culture). We are taught...in other words...to go after what we want while at the same time being told we can't trust ourselves to know what that is.

As a result...Desire is a tricky beast.

In this workshop, we will engage in practices aimed at helping us slow down, have a little fun, and tap into some low-stakes desires that we can sink our teeth into and trust.
- Mindfulness practices (no "meditation" experience required. If you know how to breathe you will be fine
- Creativity practices (no "art" experience necessary. In fact - the less experience you have the better)
- Writing exercise (you don't have to be an avid journaler...I promise!)

Some snacks and beverages will be provided along with some workbook materials you can use
