Blackrock Summit via Trayfoot Mountain & Appalachian Trail
Saturday, August 2nd | Meet at 6:00 PM | Hike begins at 6:30 PM

Hey friend!

You’re invited to join us for a peaceful sunset hike to Blackrock Summit in beautiful Shenandoah National Park. This short and rewarding trail offers sweeping views, unique rock formations, and one of the best spots in the park to watch the sun dip below the mountains.

### Hike Details:

• Distance: 1.1 miles (out & back)
• Elevation Gain: 183 feet
• Trail Rating: Easy
• Time on Trail: About 45–60 minutes total (with plenty of time to chill at the summit!)
• Where: Trail starts at Blackrock Summit Parking Area on Skyline Drive (mile marker 84.4)

This is a perfect trail for all levels — short, scenic, and stunning. We'll take our time getting to the summit, relax, and enjoy a breathtaking sunset together.

### What to Bring:

• Water (enough for a short hike)
• Snacks or something light to eat at the top
• Headlamp or flashlight (it’ll be getting dark on the way down!)
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Bug spray & sunscreen
• Light jacket or layer (can be chilly at the top)
• Blanket or mat to sit on
• Camera or journal if you're into capturing the moment

Parking is available at the Blackrock Summit Parking Area along Skyline Drive.
