This will be a chance to connect over yummy food, refreshing drinks, and great company. Let's build some genuine friendships by bonding over our shared love and passion for business.

This is not a typical networking event.

It's more about community. Therefore, I will ask that we do not pitch or pressure each other for referrals 😊 Just come and have fun!

Who this event is for

I find that most business-related groups lack a sense of community and passion. I want to bring people together who are genuinely fired up about their current business or one they hope to start. If you light up when talking about your ideas, are fuelled by your goals, and have a clear vision you are eager to share with others, this event is for you!

The venu

I chose Jameson's Pub in Brentwood because it has ample free parking and easy c-train access. I've hosted other Meetups here and it has always been a positive experience.

How to find us when you arrive.

Ask for a reservation under Azren. To be frank, I'm not 100% sure where in the bar we will be seated, but you can always message me on Meetup or fill out this contact form in case you have troubles finding us.

My history with this group.

Fun fact - I just joined it recently. It was about to be shut down due to inactivity, so I thought to myself, "why not become the organizer myself?" I have run another Meetup group for my business since 2017 and coincidentally just started another Entrepreneurship group too. Organizing events is something I thoroughly enjoy.

My bio

My name is Azren. Two of my big passions are business and languages, so in 2016 I put both together and started the Calgary Language Nerds! My team and I help adults to achieve fluency in another language typically within 1 year through personalized private lessons. I also organize free and low-cost social events for local language learners in my language learning Meetup group.

Prior to the Calgary Language Nerds, I ran a residential window cleaning franchise for a little over 5 years. Aside from business, I'm interested in nutrition, fitness, and I am an avid traveler 😊
