Managing WordPress -- RSVP to get the link
If you’re new to WordPress or you’re a graphic designer or programmer who wants to work with WordPress, we’ll be hosting a series covering the foundations of WordPress and building on each month.
Topic:
- Managing Your Own WordPress (May 28th **7PM**) — This month, Owen will talk about managing your own WordPress Site. You've got a domain name....now what?
- We'll look at web hosting (different types,) connecting your domain name to that hosting and dive into DNS settings.
- We'll also get to touch on DMARC, DKIM and SPF settings to make sure your host has things set up right to actually deliver your email and avoid your being flagged as sp*mmers.
What you need:
- Please login on your favorite laptop or desktop computer, as many of the sessions will be working live in WordPress.
- You may want to have your own WordPress website installation set up, either on a hosting platform or locally on your computer. We can suggest options for local and remote workspace if you don’t have WordPress installed already.
Please RSVP so we can provide the link for everyone.
When: 7 pm on the fourth Tuesday of the Month (**new start time)
Where: Online--LINK PROVIDED after RSVP --web based platform--no download required.
This track of meetups will run on a monthly rotation. This meetup will happen every FOURTH TUESDAY of the month. ***It’s open to anyone interested in attending and all skill levels and abilities are welcome.***
Topics we’ll be covering over the course of the 2024 WordPress Foundations series (not all in one meetup! Subject to change based on attendee input & requests)---
Future Topics:
- Other Topics — suggested by attendees — feel free to submit a Wishlist of topics!
- Plugin review -- backup plugins --- be safe & backup regularly; but how do you do that?
- Custom Post Types -- building a recipe website? Or a car listing website? You might be able to make use of custom post types.
- What would you like to learn about? Submit topic requests to organizers via the meetup chat feature.
