Hello! We set up the Calm Raft after learning the importance of prioritising calm and wellbeing in our own lives and experiencing for ourselves how much of a difference calm makes to our own quality of life and how we show up in our families and at work when we prioritise our own mental health first! Between us we have many years of experience in therapeutic work, breathwork, DBT, and holistic therapies, working with adults, in schools and online.

The Calm Raft provides a unique weekly class that is accessible to everyone who wants to take 90 minutes out from the stresses of life, to connect with others, have fun exploring fun new ways to look after their mental wellbeing and treat themselves to deep relaxation.
Each session consists of CONNECTION, CURIOSITY AND CALM:

CONNECT
Each session starts with some fun and reflective activities designed to help you to meet new people and take a pause to think about your life and how you want to live it. It is amazing how quickly you can make friends when you are able to share these brief but important conversations.

CURIOSITY
You will then be introduced to a new way to bring calm and wellbeing into your life. The idea is that you will have fun exploring something new which you can then chose if you want to incorporate it into your daily life or not. One week it might be creating your own aromatherapy blend by candlelight, and the next week you might be having a go at calm reflective collage using natural materials while listening to uplifting music. Each week is a totally different activity and every activity is optional but lots of fun! Everything is very relaxed and you won't be asked to do anything you don't want to do!
CALM
We finish each session with a cosy and relaxing meditation. Don't worry if you have never tried meditation - you will be talked through how to use your breath and the music to become calm and cosy. Bring your own blanket and pillow for this. You can also bring a yoga mat if you want to lie on the floor, or if you feel more comfortable you can sit in a chair. Whatever is best for you! The meditation is about 10 minutes long and will leave you feeling very relaxed and ready to face the week!

Everyone is welcome at the Calm Raft - whether you already prioritise calm or if this is all new to you. The key thing is you will have fun and you will be very relaxed by the end of each session! We encourage you to come along and if you are coming alone, we will make sure you are met at the door and you feel comfortable coming into your first session.
