Details

We meet in the first week of every month for thoughtful reading and grounded conversation. The Cape Town Chapter follows the same values and discussion style as the Johannesburg Book Club.

Our gatherings are reflective, welcoming, and conversation-led. The focus is shared thinking and meaningful engagement rather than academic analysis.

April Book

Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

In this powerful novel, Adichie explores ambition, identity, love, and belonging through the lives of women navigating different paths and choices across continents.

Our conversation may explore themes such as:

• Identity and self-reinvention
• Migration and belonging
• Love, ambition, and independence
• The lives we choose versus the lives we imagine

While attendance does not strictly require completion, we recommend finishing the book to support deeper discussion.

Important note

Because the first Saturday of April falls during the Easter weekend, our gathering will take place on the second Saturday of the month.
