Happy Hour Connection: First gathering for the Widow/Widowers

Details
Let’s begin gently—over coffee, wine, and meaningful connection.
You’re invited to the very first gathering of our new group for widows and widowers—a relaxed happy hour designed to help us meet, connect, and simply be in the company of others who understand. Whether you’re feeling open and social or just want to listen quietly, you are welcome here.
This will be a casual, come-as-you-are event in Greensboro at a spot where you can choose to sit or stand, have coffee or wine, and move in and out of conversation at your own pace. We’re intentionally choosing a location that allows for flexibility—so you can step aside if you need a moment or ease into connection when you’re ready.
What to expect:
• A warm, low-pressure gathering
• Opportunities for light conversation and deeper exchange
• A mix of seating and standing space
• Coffee, wine, and light refreshments (available for purchase)
• A welcoming space—no judgment, no pressure
Whether your loss is recent or years behind you, strong and single, remarried or struggling to start over, this space is for you.
Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Once the venue is confirmed, full details and address will be shared here and sent privately to those who RSVP.
To protect the integrity and emotional safety of this group, we do ask for a simple verification of widowhood (such as a redacted obituary or death certificate). Details will be shared upon RSVP.
Let’s begin this venture, coming together, one conversation, one kind connection at a time.
Allowingng one guest just in cases you’ll be more comfortable having someone familiar with you. I promises it won’t take long before you to feel like you are amongst friends you wish you had sooner:)
A little about your host:
As I face the 10 yr anniversary of my widowhood I think about what has
helped me the most…
Faith, Hope, Friendship and connecting with a widowed community has been instrumental in my rise From the depth of grief.
Grief share, widowed conferences and years of counceling have help me navigate my grief journey and the layers that surrounded it.
If I could give the world something in returned for the grace it has bestowed upon me it would be a place widows and widowers could gatherer to lift and inspire eachother. A places where authentic connections and friendships unlike the ones that used to fit and lack complete fulfillment now.
These friendships and experiences have been my saving grace and my hope is to create a space that fills you with compassion, joy and laughter… ofcourse there will be some tears but they will be understood no matter what your story is.
My hope is that connections will be made that lead to new memory making moments that can fill lives with joy and frienship!
After 10 long years I learned that grief waits. The only way through it is through it. I started my healing journey 7 years after! Only 3 years ago! It waited. I’m so glad to be where my feet are now!
This is not a counceling session but an amazing social opportunity.
