Details

Last year the meetup at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) was one of the most anticipated meetups of the year. Unfortunately, some heavy spring storms made it difficult for many members to attend. Thus, we are excited to host another meeting at EVL to see the incredible work being done at UIC.

Meetup attendees will experience firsthand EVL’s SAGE2™ Scalable Amplified Group Environment, a user-centered platform for small groups or large distributed teams to access, display, share and investigate large-scale datasets on tiled display walls; and, its CAVE2™ Hybrid Reality Environment, which combines the immersive, hand/head tracked, stereoscopic 3D capabilities of large-scale virtual-reality systems with the the scalable resolution of tiled display walls. In addition to EVL faculty showcasing these collaborative environments, faculty will also present their research in information visualization, scientific visualization, medical imaging, geometric modeling, human-computer interaction, computational aesthetics and art.
