The Chocolate Society: Conversations, Tastings & Craft
Hosted by Kristen Hard
About the Host
Kristen Hard is an award-winning chocolate maker, judge, and cacao advocate who has spent years working with farmers and origin communities across South America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Founder of Haus of Cacao, Mio and ONOR, she was among the first women in America to make chocolate directly from cacao beans. Her work bridges craft, science, and spirit—inviting people to experience chocolate as a living language of nature, art, and connection.

About the Meetup
Welcome to The Chocolate Society—a gathering for anyone who wants to go beyond “sweet” and explore the true world of cacao.
Each session we’ll:
• Taste & Compare rare origin chocolates and discover what makes them unique.
• Learn & Discuss how cacao is grown, fermented, and transformed—from bean to bar.
• Explore topics like flavor, fermentation, sustainability, ethics, and ritual.
• Connect with a community of chocolate lovers, makers, and curious minds.
No experience required—just curiosity and a palate ready for discovery.
Future meetups will include hands-on workshops where you can learn to craft your own chocolate from cacao beans, understand origin sourcing, and experience the art of tempering and molding.
⸻
Frequency & Flow
Meetups are held monthly in Barcelona, with occasional pop-up events and workshops throughout the city. Tastings and classes may include a small materials fee.
Visiting Barcelona? You are warmly invited to join us—or message Kristen to learn about additional chocolate experiences and events happening around the city.

Intention
This isn’t just about chocolate—it’s about connection. Every cacao pod holds a story of land, people, and spirit. Our aim is to honor that story while creating a space of warmth, creativity, and delicious learning here in the city.
