The Top Tech Trends Debate returns in 2023 with a great line up and the opportunity to attend a live networking event.

Unlike anything that exists in Australia, the Top Tech Trends Debate showcases the visions of five leading industry professionals. They pitch their ideas on the next big thing, and the audience votes.

The event features as a highlight of the emerging technologies powering investment stream of the State Government of Victoria's Digital Innovation Festival (DIF2023).

Rupert Walsh, Chief Technology Officer- InnovateGPT

As a seasoned professional and former Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft, Rupert Walsh's rich background in technology and leadership has been instrumental in driving innovation. Jane Bunn, Meteorologist 7NEWS, CEO & Founder- Jane's Weather

Jane Bunn is a qualified meteorologist from Melbourne with an infectious enthusiasm for talking about the weather. With a Bachelor of Science degree (majoring in Atmospheric Science and Mathematics), Jane was one of nine students selected in 2006 to undertake a Graduate Diploma of Meteorology provided by the Bureau of Meteorology. Jane is Founder and CEO of Jane's Weather (janesweather.com), a platform that applies machine learning and artificial intelligence to the best performing global weather models along with hyper local observations, to produce specific weather forecasts for use in the decision making process of commercial operations, in agriculture, energy, construction and other industries.

Nigel Dalton - Lean Enterprise Australia

Nigel Dalton is a passionate lean and agile technology leader with over 30 years of IT-related experience across government, multi-nationals, and start-ups. He has been involved in several ventures, including co-founding a consultancy, Luna Tractor, to help organisations apply systems thinking, lean and agile software development techniques to all aspects of business.

Nigel previously held the role of CIO at REA Group, before heading up the REALABS research and development team. That team was responsible for ensuring REA was ahead of the curve with future technology and social trends, both in the real estate space and beyond.

Dr David Collins - Biomedical Engineering University of Melbourne

David is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Melbourne. His research interests are in developing systems for advanced bioprinting, using novel micromanipulation methods to span the length scales from the single-cell environment to the macro-scale structure.

David has expertise in integrated actuation methods in microfluidic systems, with applications for pattering and sorting of micro specimens. He is engaged in collaborations worldwide.
