In this meeting, we will be discussing the career and works of Mavis Gallant, the great Canadian short story writer. Suggested readings include the following four of her New Yorker stories:
- “The Ice Wagon Going Down the Street” – The New Yorker, October 1963
- “When We Were Nearly Young” – The New Yorker, September 1954
- “In the Tunnel” – The New Yorker, March 1971
- “The Moslem Wife” – The New Yorker, April 1970
I can share copies of these stories with anyone who needs them.
