THE GREAT ITALIAN POLENTATA
Details
### One Table. One Giant Polenta. Everyone Eats Together!
Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 8:00 PM | Brussels
Forget everything you know about traditional dinner parties. This Saturday, we’re bringing a centuries-old Italian countryside tradition to Brussels!
No individual plates. No separate portions. Just one enormous polenta, one shared table, and a group of people enjoying food the way generations of Italian families have done.
## A Dish That Connects Continents
Polenta is much more than an Italian specialty.
Across Europe, South America and Africa, communities have developed their own versions of thick, comforting grain-based dishes.
In Italy, it’s polenta. In Romania, mămăligă. Across the Balkans, kačamak or pura. In Brazil, angu. And in many African countries, you’ll find similar culinary traditions such as ugali, sadza and pap.
Different ingredients, different histories, but one shared idea: transforming simple grains into nourishing food that brings people together.
This Saturday, we’ll celebrate the Northern Italian tradition of the polentata, where food becomes a communal experience.
## THE EXPERIENCE
Imagine a long table surrounded by new friends. (all members of our club are vetted)
A huge wooden board is placed in the centre. Freshly cooked, steaming polenta is spread across it, forming a beautiful golden surface.
Then comes the sauce: a rich, slow-cooked combination of Italian sausages, San Marzano tomatoes and mushrooms, finished with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
Everyone eats directly from the same board, starting from their own side and gradually working towards the centre.
It’s rustic, delicious, interactive and surprisingly entertaining!
## THE MENU

## THE GOLDEN RULES OF THE POLENTATA
1. No individual plates! Everyone eats from the same board.
2. Defend your territory! Start from your edge and work towards the centre.
3. Respect the borders! No stealing sausages from your neighbour’s section.
4. No double-dipping! Use your own fork and stay in your area.
5. Diplomacy wins! The last piece of sausage is always negotiable.
6. Enjoy the experience! Sharing food is what this evening is all about.
