Wesley made a more then sufficient post about it here: https://www.meetup.com/The-Cogg/messages/boards/thread/48577471

But just to see if there is enough interest, maybe a meetup should be made. So if your down to go, (and trust me, you wont regret a game jam if you have never been), RSVP! Don't worry about making teams, or having a skill set. Just come with the passion and you will have a blast.

Hope to see you all there!

The GGJ is an annual event. The 2015 GGJ will start at 5pm (in your time zone) on January 23 and goes for ~48 hours through January 25, 2014

COGG ADMIN NOTES:

Thanks Teddy! We're in conversations with GGJ representatives to finalize our site. Just wanted to add in more notes for everyone here:

LOCATION:

We'll be on the 3rd floor of the usual COGG building. Since this area is a Data Center this floor has security access which can be open with the help of Scott, myself, and Cody. This also allow us to see all the equipment we usually do not have on the 1st floor. The main we room reserved is called the Think Tank which is the room to the right of the reception desk. We also have the DEC Cafe Conf Room which we will need access from COGG event coordinators (Scott, myself, and Cody).

DETAILS:

This is a limited on site all weekend event where you and other COGG game developers (15 max, first come first serve) will spend the best of 48 hours making a game! Come all and build a game from scratch on January 23rd at 5pm til January 25th 10pm. Network, meet new and old favorites, and most of all, HAVE FUN! See GGJ site more more details:

http://globalgamejam.org/faq

Some WiFi, electrical outlets, whiteboards, small chairs and tables, and tv's will be provided. However, please bring your own equipment and software you think you'll need. Free resources can be found here on GGJ's website:

http://globalgamejam.org/jammer-resources

There will be a cafe where you can eat and relax between development spurts. Even if you do not know how to start making a game, come join us! We'll work to match teams to help build all kinds of games from digital works to paper board games. At the end of the weekend, we'll come together and submit and recap the game you and your team made!

Here are the rules and regulations of the event:

Every Jammer must create an account and register with an official GGJ 2015 Jam Site at globalgamejam.org.

All digital games and source code for all GGJ game projects must be uploaded to globalgamejam.org and released as open source. See also the FAQ (http://globalgamejam.org/faq).

Participation in the event is completely voluntary. Global Game Jam Inc., or any event sponsors are not liable for any incidents at my Jam Site and my location during the preparation for the event and during the event itself.
