We’re starting something simple and meaningful.
The Cookbook Table is a community dinner club built around one idea:
food brings people together.
For each gathering, we choose one cookbook, everyone cooks one recipe from that book, and we come together to share a meal and a thoughtful conversation about food, culture, community, and life.
### 🗳️ Our First Gathering — Cookbook Vote Night
Wednesday, January 14
This first dinner is about setting the table for what’s to come. We’ll enjoy a some food and drinks at a restaurant in Philly, get to know one another, and vote on our first cookbook as a group.
### 📚 The Three Cookbooks We’ll Vote On
- Cooking From The Spirit, Tabitha Brown
- Plenty, Yotam Ottolenghi
- Joyful, Radhi Devlukia
We’ll vote together at the dinner, then each person will choose a recipe from the winning book for our next gathering.
### 🍽️ What to Expect
- A relaxed, welcoming dinner (family-style)
- Light facilitation—no pressure, no critiques
- Conversation prompts around:
- Why we chose food
- Cultural influences
- Memories, rituals, and connection
- A community-first atmosphere (not a cooking competition)
### 🧠 Who This Is For
- Curious home cooks
- People who love conversation as much as food
- Anyone looking for real community around a shared table
No professional cooking experience required—just show up open and hungry.
Come curious.
Come hungry.
