The Creative Life - San Diego

Check in with your creative side, connect with a creative community, and get inspired. Join me to chat about how we’ve been connected to (or disconnected from) our creativity lately, what interests/excites us, and what has been holding us back. I'll provide a few prompts to journal on for the first 15 minutes, and then we'll dig in as a group! No creative background required; this is for anyone wanting to bring more creativity into their life.

Bring a journal and something to write with. Can’t wait to see you there!

Join me for a creative show and tell: bring something you're excited about - whether you created it or not!

• a poem or story (under ~5 minutes please)
• a song
• a painting, photograph, drawing, doodle, scarf, origami crane
• the list goes on - this is the most open of open mics (also, there will be no mic)

Works in progress welcome! This is a safe, relaxed space to share what you've been working on or to chat about something cool/inspiring you found.

Dress warmly for when the sun sets, and bring a chair if you’d like one!

The Creative Life is an intimate 8-week group exploring our relationship with creativity: what inspires us, what gets in our way, and how we can cultivate more of it. Through meaningful conversations, guided reflection, and weekly solo adventures, we’ll support one another in building a more creative, connected life.

Who is this group for?

You don’t have to identify as “a creative” to join. If you’re looking to experiment more, feel creatively fulfilled, or reconnect with a sense of play and adventure—this is for you.

Whether you’re a daily artist, someone who “wasn’t the creative one” growing up, or somewhere in between, you’ll be welcomed into an open and inclusive group.

What to expect:

• Weekly group meetups (Mondays, 6–7:30pm) to reflect and connect
• Two one-on-one calls with me
• Weekly prompts and exercises inspired by creativity teachers like Julia Cameron and Martha Beck
• A daily journaling practice
• Solo “creative adventures” to explore, inspire, and expand your comfort zone
• Deep conversations and a community that lasts beyond the 8 weeks

And who are you?

Hi, I’m Anna—a writer, creativity group facilitator, and former "down-to-earth, business one" of the friend group. For years, I was convinced creativity was for certain types of people, and I was not one of them. After wading through these narratives and habits holding me back from being creative, I formed this group to continue the journey with others. Currently, I'm into improv, dancing, and playing the piano, plus I think I'm on the brink of an abstract collage phase.
