Join photographer, educator and Fujifilm X Creator Dave Julian as he shares visual highlights and techniques from his many trips in the expansive agricultural region known as The Palouse.
Using some of his best Palouse images as examples, Dave will reveal how he creates photographs that capture the unique feeling of a place, its unique history and the local people who work the lands.
He'll highlight his methods for finding and framing expressive light, and what to do when the light and weather isn't as cooperative.
He’ll also explain how he helps photographers at all levels to take creative risks, learn new skills and grow their personal style and portfolios. This will be an interactive, inclusive meetup that leads towards forthcoming photo-sharing meetups and an earlybird discount for Dave's June 2026 Palouse Workshop.

Dave Julian is a Seattle-based photographer and photo-educator who enjoys helping others explore their creative vision and improve their craft. His work appears in many publications including Nikon World, Outside, National Geographic Traveler, Islands, Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, Digital PhotoPro, FujiLove and podcasts that include Beginner Photography, Hit The Streets, and Photo Conversations.
He leads cultural travel and street photography workshops in Coupeville WA, The Palouse, Vietnam, Cuba, India, and for Santa Fe Workshops, Maine Media Workshops, Glazer’s Camera and Kenmore Camera. Dave is also lead instructor for the University of Washington Photography Certificate program. He is a photographer with Fujifilm’s X/GFX CREATOR team.
