OVERVIEW

Unlock the secrets of long exposure photography and elevate your images into striking works of fine art. This hands-on workshop will equip you with the creative techniques and technical know-how to make your images stand out.

What You'll Learn:

  • The fundamentals of long exposure photography: understanding shutter speed and filters.
  • Composition strategies to transform ordinary landscapes into compelling fine art.
  • Practical, on-location shooting techniques to master long exposures in real time.

What to Expect: This immersive, two-hour workshop blends in-depth instruction with guided practice, allowing you to experiment and refine your skills. Whether you're new to long exposure or looking to expand your creative toolkit, you'll walk away with both the confidence and knowledge to capture scenes that command attention.

This is an abridged formation of my multi-segment course on Long Exposure Photography. The concept will be to guide you though concepts, camera settings, using filters for best results, and composition, in the field.

Our meeting time allows for some daylight, golden hour into sunset. Sunset is around 8:30 PM.

Who Should Attend: Photographers of all skill levels who want to explore the artistic potential of long exposure techniques. Note attendees should have a solid understanding of manual control of their cameras.

Required Gear:

  • A camera capable of bulb mode
  • Wide-angle lens, generally something between 20mm - 35mm is a good start, longer lenses can also be interesting.
  • Tripod
  • Neutral Density filters, at a minimum starting point of 10-stops, ideally 13-15 stops of ND is recommended.

If you have questions about what filters to get, please send me a message. A tripod and filters must be used to create these images.
