The Curious Krewe

At a Curious Krewe, we believe most of us are walking around wanting the same thing: deep, real, safe connections.  Friendships that don’t require pretending, and conversations that don’t turn into a fight. The problem is…those spaces are rare. So we built one! In the Curious Krewe, we gather around one honest question each month and practice a simple approach we’ve found actually works:

• Curiosity Leads:  We lead with questions, not hot takes. This isn’t a debate club or a fixing session. It’s a space to hear the story beneath someone’s opinion and to learn from and about each other.
• Friendship Follows: When people feel seen, heard, and respected, connection grows into friendship... real friendships that can hold differences, tell the truth, and still stay at the table.

We don’t do that with a bunch of rules.  Instead, we do it with our Curious Code that keeps the space safe, kind, and real:

• Respect beats being right...always
• Listen up...no interruptions, please
• Keep an open mind...it’s how we grow
• Respond with curiosity...questions before comments
• Make this a safe space for everyone, every time

This is how a typical CK Gathering looks:

• We begin gathering at 6 pm to give folks time to get drinks and food and settle in.
• At 6:30 pm, we start our discussions, and each person takes time to respond to the question of the gathering (which we all voted on after the last gathering). When the speaker says they are finished, the group is welcome to respond thoughtfully with affirmations or questions. (Not corrections or debates).
• We wrap up discussions a little before 8 pm and conclude the gathering with a few parting words and details about the next gathering.
• If you wish to continue your conversation or start a whole new one, everyone is free to stay as long as they wish.
