Creating the future from the future, beyond self-doubt: vision board 2023

Dear Awesome Members,

Though Dr. Albert Ellis didn't have a vision board, as far as I know, he encouraged his students to have goals and to work on meaningful pursuits.

In order to become intentional, I find it is sometimes helpful to have clients create a vision of what they'd love to welcome into their lives.

• Instead of coming to life from the past, we can create from the vision of the future.
• We allow our happiest vision of the future to direct our imagination.
• This brings us out of fear and self-doubt, and into anticipating life with eagerness for the good that is to come.

You might wonder a little bit about the details of such an event. So here are some Q & A's:

Virtual Vision Board Party 2023

What's a vision board?
You might have heard that creators such as Walt Disney used a Dream Board to have a visual image of what he wanted to create in his life. Vision Boards started to become a popular way to dream about life & create more intentionality for the year ahead.
Why now?
The beginning of the year is a perfect time to set your direction for the year ahead.
Is this something to approach with seriousness? Actually, a playful attitude works best. The vision board itself is designed to be playful/non-serious, so you can get as creative & dream as big as you want!
What is a vision board party? We will get together to create a board of photos and phrases that include anything you'd be happy or ecstatic to welcome into your life.
Materials:
You'll need a posterboard, cut out images, glue/tape, markers, a smiling face & willingness to share with each other.

Please prepare by downloading and cutting out as many of the following images to represent your dreams for yourself for this year.
Some sections of your life as you might like to include are: personal life, relationships, physical health/fitness, habits, self-knowledge/growth, relaxation/hobbies/creativity, travel, career/volunteer, reputation, travel, home, possessions, and anything else you'd like to add.
