Dear Awesome Members--
I know it's been a while since we've had a meetup & I wanted to invite you to something I'm doing tomorrow at 5:55 pm.
For non-REBT folk, we call it a manifestation meditation. For REBT and CBT'rs, we know that there is a lot of good to be done through mental rehearsal and visualizing what we want.
It's like sports or driving--what we point toward is the direction we tend to go. That is why focusing on something that is worth our efforts is a good idea--it keeps us pointed in the right direction.
Also...
The first day of a new year represents the closing of the old year and the opening of the fresh new opportunities ahead : )
I've found that when I take the time to pause and really get clear about what I want for the year to come, it can be focusing, clarifying, and powerful.
I want to point myself in the direction of abundance, joy, ease, and flow, or what Dr. Ellis might call a vital absorbing interest.
And I also like doing this with others because there's a power in the shared intention and Dr. Ellis would remind us that it enhances both self-interest and social interest.
And even if you don't love that the word manifestation (which can sound woo woo) this exercise is just about bringing something forward, from a mental-preference (not a demand of course) or heart-wish (emotionally laden preference) into a tangible reality.
So much is possible for us!
