What we’re about
The Dancehall Sisterhood is a Brooklyn-based women’s community for dancehall/reggae lovers who want more than a night out — we’re here for real friendships, shared joy, and a high-quality vibe.
Most meetups will take place in Brooklyn, and we welcome women from all over NYC.
We’ll start with intimate winter brunch circles (easy conversation, no awkward mixers). As the community grows, we’ll add curated outings: curated dance nights, music events, summer park hangs, and occasional invite-only home gatherings once trust is established.
For women who:
- love dancehall/reggae and love to dance
- are ambitious in their own way and building a full life
- appreciate warmth, discretion, and respect
Community agreements:
- be kind and inclusive
- no selling, soliciting, or promoting
- privacy matters (no posting without consent)
- we follow venue rules
Join and answer the membership questions to help keep the group aligned.

We’re meeting up for Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday — a free, after-hours night with programming across the museum. We’ll use it as a low-pressure way to connect in person, then (optionally) head nearby after to keep the conversation going.
