What we’re about
We are a collective of end-of-life guides and death educators. Like birth, death can be loud, messy, and unexpected—yet in our culture, we embrace one but not the other. End-of-life guides, also known as death doulas, can help you craft an authentic end-of-life plan that reflects your core values and personality.
Along with guiding people through end-of-life, we are also deeply engaged in our community. Educational workshops are one of our favorite offerings, and we host free gatherings every month to lift the taboo around talking about death. Our Grief Garden Club, Queer Death Network, and Death Café discussion groups are always in the monthly rotation.

Gender & Identity at the End of Life: What Shows Up on the Death Certificate?
This month, we’re taking a closer look at how gender and identity are reflected—or not—on the California death certificate. While many of us live in beautifully self-defined and chosen identities, the legal system doesn’t always keep up. This can be painful to confront, especially when what's required at death may not reflect how we lived.Together, we’ll gently unpack what data is legally required on the death certificate in California, and explore what can be populated to reflect your chosen identity and gender. This session is led by queer-affirming death care professionals who’ve walked alongside many families through this process—and who are committed to helping you understand your rights, your options, and where change is still needed.
This workshop is led by LGBTQIA+ community members and queer-affirming death care professionals who are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive space. Each month, we’ll explore a new end-of-life topic relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community. Join us regularly, and over time, you’ll create a comprehensive guide for your loved ones—ensuring your wishes, identity, and values are honored when the time comes.
