About us
Welcome! This is a group for autistic adults with intellectual, artistic, and other learning interests to meet and socialize regularly. This is for the sake of cultivating the joy that many of us experience when we have the opportunity to socialize with other autistic people without the necessity of masking and of self-monitoring.
All autistic people are welcome to attend, whether diagnosed by a doctor or self-diagnosed. Parents, caretakers, and assistants may not come unless they are also autistic.
This meetup group acts under the aegis of the Delian Club, an autistic-lead nonprofit dedicated to fostering autistic culture and creating social occasions for intellectually- and artistically-minded autistic adults to socialize with each other. Our eventual aim is to have brick-and-mortar premises where autistic adults can socialize with each other freely and to which they can come spontaneously without prior appointment.
We have walks every Sunday at County Farm Park at 2230 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. These are at 2:00. We will meet rain or shine unless there is a thunderstorm, so be sure to dress appropriately for conditions. We have discussion nights on Wednesdays at 7:00 in tbe Mayflower Room of the First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor. We will also have irregularly scheduled events at other venues, such as bars and restaurants.

Book Club: Convenience Store Woman
First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor, 608 E. William, Ann Arbor, MI, USJoin us for our monthly Delian Book Club meeting, hosted by Gina and Avery. This meeting will take place during our usual discussion night time at the First Congregational Church in Ann Arbor.
Today, please join us to discuss Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata.
Please start your contribution to the discussion by referring to the sections which were relevant to you and, to the extent you are comfortable, share why you relate.
This book may provoke strong emotions in some people. We understand and respect that. We want to make it clear, though, that the book club hosts aren't therapists and the group may not be the best place to share unprocessed trauma. Please try to keep your comments on the topic of the book.
Let us know any questions or feedback you have!
